Keynote Speaker: Marty Traynor

Marty Traynor retired as Senior Vice President – Voluntary Benefits at Mutual of Omaha after over 50 years in the insurance/employee benefits market. During his career, Marty’s work responsibilities have covered product and service development, voluntary benefit strategy, marketing, enrollment methods, and underwriting. He has worked with both group and individual products and supporting processes. Products Marty has managed include term and permanent life insurance, disability income protection products, supplemental medical plans, and employee assistance programs.

Marty now is Managing Consultant at Current Benefits, LLC. He continues to leverage his knowledge of the voluntary benefits market through Current Benefits Insights, a series of web video interviews with industry thought leaders published on LinkedIn in cooperation with Mployer Advisor. He has contributed a monthly column to benefitsPRO magazine for nearly 20 years and has contributed to many other insurance and employee benefits related publications. Marty’s columns focus on  a broad spectrum of topics related to employee benefits, with special focus on voluntary benefits – their  design, enrollment, and servicing. Marty has been a featured speaker at many industry conferences and seminars.

Marty is a member of the Worksite Marketing Hall of Fame. Marty has been recognized as a VEBB Superstar by the Voluntary Employee Benefits Board. He is also a member of the Voluntary Benefits Association Hall of Fame. He is a CLU (emeritus) and a Fellow, Life Management Institute.

Marty serves on the Advisory Board for Le Moyne College’s McNeil Academy of Risk Management & Insurance. He graduated from Le Moyne in 1968. He and his wife, Fran, live in Omaha.
