September 1, 2026

As Vice President of Commercial Strategy & Operations, Chief of Staff, Kirk Vitry helps lead growth and innovation at Selerix. During his eight years with the company, he has supported acquisitions, strategic projects, and AI initiatives. Kirk held leadership roles at Capital One, managing digital operations, mobile app development, and banking teams.

What were you doing before you joined Selerix?
Just before Selerix, I was with Capital One. I led a digital operations team that built API-driven web and mobile apps for Auto Finance.. Prior to that, I managed the call center for Capital One Bank and other retail banking operations.

How long have you been with Selerix?
I have been with Selerix for eight years. I joined Selerix as part of an acquisition of TBX. I was familiar with TBX because a couple of the founders lived in my neighborhood. We would run into each other at different events and figured out that together we could push the boundaries of TBX.

How has your role evolved?
It’s been constantly evolving. I came in leading operations with TBX, and then that morphed into this role. Projects encompasses the acquisition process and has now evolved to include AI across our organization. It’s about getting to know all of the resources we have as One Selerix and embracing a deeper understanding of our business. As a bigger company, we continue to be able to accomplish more and more than we ever did before.

What is the best piece of career advice you’ve ever received?
Take an opportunity even when it’s uncomfortable. When opportunity knocks, say yes, you can figure out the rest. Change is hard; embrace it.

Just for Fun

What is something most co-workers would be surprised to learn about you?
That I won a national championship judging chickens, turkeys and eggs on the Poultry Judging Team at LSU.

What did you want to be when you were a kid?
I wanted to be a vet. I worked for a vet when I was in college and it was the same thing day in and day out, like Groundhog Day. I needed more variety.

Outside of work, what kind of hobbies do you have?
I play rugby, go to concerts, rock climb, surf, and spend a lot of time with my kids and my wife.

What posters were on your childhood bedroom wall?
Second baseman Ryne Sandberg from the Cubs.

What activity gets harder as you get older?
Getting out of bed in the morning — I’m just achy. Physical activities get more challenging, and my goal when being active is now #1: don’t get hurt, and #2: have fun.

What’s something you do that embarrasses your kids?
Big, long public hugs.

What advice would you give yourself at age 15?
High school is not as critical as it will make you believe. And there is no permanent record.

Who was your first celebrity crush?
Christina Applegate.

What song would you sing at karaoke night?
Bye, Bye, Bye by NSYNC.

What’s the silliest way you’ve ever gotten an injury?
I threw my back out getting chocolate milk out of the fridge for my son.

What is an item on your bucket list?
To retire at the beach.

How long would you survive in a zombie apocalypse?
Multiple months.  I have a best friend who’s got an arsenal and my wife is a food scientist. We would figure it out.

What’s the best road trip you’ve ever taken?
Colorado with my son last summer. It was a 10-day trip. We drove from Dallas to Colorado and worked our way up in elevations. We hiked, surfed down the Great Sand Dunes on sand boards, did whitewater rafting, horseback riding, rock climbing and rappelling. However, if that’s the last time I go to the mountains, I’m fine. It was a great trip. It was tough though.
