Employee Spotlight: Andrew Graman | VP, Financial Planning and Analysis

| Lori Ralston

Andrew Graman brings extensive experience in employee benefits and financial leadership to his role at Selerix. As VP of Financial Planning and Analysis, he uses financial data and insights to help guide company strategy and decision-making. In this spotlight, Andrew shares his career journey, how his role has evolved, and a few fun facts, including the superpower he would choose.

What kind of career did you lead before joining Selerix?
My career has been centered in the employee benefits industry. I spent time in customer management for an insurance broker and later served as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at Steele Benefit Services before joining Selerix.

When and how did you get involved with Selerix Systems?
I joined Selerix through the acquisition of Steele in August 2025. Before working at Steele, I helped implement their services for a mutual customer, which allowed me to collaborate with their team and get to know the company from the outside.

How would you describe your role in one sentence?
My role is to use financial data and insights to help guide company strategy and decision-making.

How has your role evolved over time?
My role has become more specialized as the organization has grown. When we were a team of about 20 employees, I was very involved in the day-to-day operations. Now, as part of the larger Selerix team, my work focuses more on filling specific needs and leveraging my strengths.

If you wrote a book about your career so far, what would you title it? Why?
Right Where I’m Supposed to Be

I’ve been extremely fortunate in my career and grateful for the opportunities I’ve been given. Just as importantly, I’m thankful for the opportunities I thought I wanted but didn’t receive. Looking back, I can see how those moments helped guide me to exactly where I needed to be, even if I didn’t realize it at the time.

Just for Fun

If you had a warning label, what would yours say?
It would probably mention my love for context and details, and it would likely be written in very small print. Also, expect plenty of sports references and metaphors.

What celebrity would you like to meet for a cup of coffee?
Mark Cuban. I enjoy listening to visionaries share their ideas and thinking through how those ideas are turned into reality. Plus, we both share a love of Indiana University athletics. Maybe instead of coffee, we could grab dinner at Nick’s on Kirkwood before heading to a big game in Bloomington.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
Super speed. I loved playing sports as a kid and was decent at most of them, but I was never the fastest, tallest, or strongest player on the field. It would be fun to flip the script on at least one of those!

What posters were on your childhood bedroom wall?
Major League Baseball players, including Scott Rolen, Joey Votto, and Ken Griffey Jr.

If you weren’t in this profession, what would you do?
I would likely work in financial advising or wealth management.

Where did you grow up, and what is something you loved about it?
I grew up in rural southwestern Indiana. I loved attending a smaller high school where I could participate in multiple sports and activities at the same time.

Early bird or night owl?
Night owl.

What is one item on your bucket list?
To visit all 50 states in the U.S.

Ready for a test drive
